CAMP. WHERE THE JOURNEY BEGINS.
Give your child an experience they will never forget in the great outdoors! Steve's Camp provides children a sense of community and teachable moments to build their self-esteem, self-respect and leadership skills. After a pandemic-filled year where New Yorkers have been confined indoors and forced to connect virtually and from behind masks, young people need camp now more than ever!
OUR CAMP PHILOSOPHY
OUR CAMP PHILOSOPHY
Launched in 2010, Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms is a non-profit dedicated to providing a unique summer camp experience for New York City youth. We give middle school and high school students from persistently underserved communities the chance to spend two weeks on beautiful working farm in Livingston Manor, New York.
Our mission is simple:
Empower young people to realize their potential through a unique camp experience, encouraging each camper to develop a healthy body, healthy heart, and healthy mind.
Nestled in the Catskills in Livingston Manor, New York, Steve's Camp at Horizon Farms boasts:
Modern dorm-style rooms that house 5 campers, a counselor, and a separate bathroom.
Lots of indoor program space, a big teaching kitchen, and 100 acres of hiking and outdoor space.
A working farm where we grow most of our own vegetables and have goats, chickens and rabbits.
A high ropes challenge course where campers have access to exciting teambuilding activities.
