Steve's Camp provides campers a sense of community and teachable moments to build their self-esteem, self-respect and leadership skills. After a pandemic-filled year where New Yorkers have been confined indoors and forced to connect virtually and from behind masks, young people need camp now more than ever!
CHOOSE YOUR CAMP

July 1st - July 12th, 2023
In this session, middle school-aged campers engage in the same set
of “classic camp” and nature-based activities as their peers in the girls
session. While mornings could offer yoga and meditation, campers can
look forward to hikes or cooking classes in the afternoon.

July 29th - August 9th, 2023
In this session, middle school-aged campers engage in an immersive, nature-based experience, participating in activities such as hiking, biking, and horseback riding as well as offerings that help develop social-emotional learning.
July 15th - 26th, 2023
Created to both inspire and prepare rising leaders, campers confront
social and personal issues impacting them and their environments, interact with and learn directly from community leaders, and take home actionable skills that will help them succeed in any life stage.
August 12th - 23rd, 2023
Focused on strengthening the next generation of brilliant leaders, campers
explore social and personal issues impacting them and their communities,
plan and host a leadership summit, and take home concrete leadership
skills that will help them thrive in school, at home, and beyond.

STEVE'S CAMP
Launched in 2010, Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms is a non-profit dedicated to providing a unique summer camp experience for New York City youth. We give middle school and high school students from persistently underserved communities the chance to spend two weeks on beautiful working farm in Livingston Manor, New York.
Our mission is simple:
Empower young people to realize their potential through a unique camp experience, encouraging each camper to develop a healthy body, healthy heart, and healthy mind.

FACILITIES
Nestled in the Catskills in Livingston Manor, New York, Steve's Camp at Horizon Farms boasts:

Modern dorm-style rooms that house 5 campers, a counselor, and a separate bathroom.

Lots of indoor program space, a big teaching kitchen, and 100 acres of hiking and outdoor space.

A working farm where we grow most of our own vegetables and have goats and chickens.

A high ropes challenge course where campers have access to exciting teambuilding activities.

While camp is important, it is not for everyone. Please review the requirements carefully and decide if you are a fit. If you are a parent who is nervous about sending your teen to camp, we understand your concerns and we want to work with your family to make sure the camp experience is right for you! CAMP IS FREE!
There is no cost for camp.
If you are selected, we ask that all families and campers review our Safety Policy, follow COVID19 safety protocols and commit testing their teen 72 hours before the session begins. Protocols subject to change based on New York state guidelines.
