Steve’s Camp COVID-19 policy
Steve’s Camp is committed to providing campers with a fun, meaningful, and safe camp experience. As a result, we are instituting protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at camp. These protocols are based on the CDC, The American Camping Association, and the state of New York’s guidelines for running a summer camp. All protocols are subject to change as the COVID-19 situation evolves. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and cooperation.
Arrival and first day protocol
Testing: All participants must receive a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to arriving at the bus. Once at camp, everyone will be tested again and screened for symptoms.
Vaccination: We strongly suggest that everyone who is eligible receives the COVID-19 vaccine and booster; however, vaccination is not required. Go to covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/ for more information on the COVID-19 vaccine and to find out where to get vaccinated.
During the session
Sanitation: Steve’s Camp is committed to vigilantly following the CDC’s sanitation guidelines to minimize the spread of germs and keep everyone at camp safe.
Managing Positive Cases: If a camper or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they will immediately isolate and then return home. If more than 2 positive cases are identified, we will investigate the extent of the spread. If we cannot control the spread, we will have to send all campers home early.
Cancellations: Steve’s Camp reserves the right to to cancel a session or modify the session dates based on the evolving COVID-19 situation, and to turn away any camper who does not receive a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours before camp. Likewise, caregivers can cancel their child’s camp enrollment up to 72 hours before the start of the session.
