YEAR ROUND PROGRAMMING
Our participants are already exceptionally talented and blazing with curiosity and excitement. At SCHF we believe it’s our job to help keep that energy alive... to keep our camper’s spirits afire.
Afire, seeks to extend the lessons learned at camp into the school year by helping participants incorporate their new approach to healthy body, healthy heart, and healthy mind into their daily lives at home.
In addition to regular reunions, SCHF offers six week workshops that dive deeper into a specific topics we explore at camp. Workshops are intended to compliment students’ school offerings and campers are encouraged to participate in all workshops, but are able to select the topics that are of greatest interest.
This year workshops include:
Health + Wellness (fall 2018) – students experience the different, interconnected aspects of wellness and living a healthy, well balanced life from the physical to the spiritual.
Arts + Discovery (winter 2019) – students are encouraged to connect to nature in a therapeutic way, discover an inner voice that fosters self-expression, and learn to navigate cultural institutions.
Critical Issues (spring 2019) – a student driven module based on current events and issues relevant to participants. Geared toward helping students engage in the larger world and environment through community involvement and political activism.
